Keep it Fresh – Dikk! v0.91 released

May 26th, 2009

Sorry for the faulty update we’ve put out yesterday. Our bad.

But today, we are finally bringing you a fine little update to our fabulous telepathy system Dikk!, for real!

After Dikk! hit over 3000 downloads in the first month, we realized we need to give some time to our new baby in order to fix two major problems.

The first beta release suffered of some erratic behavior in the CoverFlow implementation used to browse received transmission – after some time, the CoverFlow viewer failed to display the new screen captures it received, instead looping captures from its history.

The bug was not very serious, but it did seriously diminish the entertainment value of using Dikk!.
This is now fixed, and constitutes the major part of this update.

The second problem was a complete lack of any kind of documentation -our excuse being that the creation and release of the app was itself rather spontaneous. But I have now caught up on my homework, and so you can find an exhaustive, one page documentation in our wiki.

Enjoy! – Dikk! v0.91 Beta

Bug reports and comments are always welcome, I’ve now opened a separate section for Dikk! in our User Forums.

Awesome! Thanks for this update! My wife and I started using Dikk to swap screen shots of what we were each looking at since our iMac’s are back to back on either side of a desk/table – but we abandoned it after experiencing the “history” bug…great to see this one squashed!!

    Dear All,

Our apologies, as it seems we are unable to resolve the problem with the automated update. Please download and install the update manually from the link in this post.

Er… the update will work fine from future versions.

This looks swanky, but I’m the only one in the office running Leopard, and it evidently doesn’t work in Tiger.

    Thanks for a great utility!

If you’re considering any changes or updates to the utility, a great addition would be to be able to configure the “new screenshot arrived”-box not to steal keyboard focus when it announces the new screenshot. The way it works now is quite annoying if you are working and somebody sends you a screenshot without telling you first.

Thanks again for releasing such a great utility though. :)
