ForkLift2 Beta 3: Facelift of the GUI

July 30th, 2010

As you could probably already sense from one of our previous posts this release is a lot about streamlining and re-designing various elements of the User Interface. We integrated a lot of panels into the main window and re-evaluated many workflow processes to enable you working even faster and more efficiently with files. New favorites management, a new Connect interface and a completely new progress bar with transfer queue are only some to mention.

Of course we also fixed a wast amount of bugs and updated many functionalities, to deliver what is expected from the most advanced file manager for Mac.

This version pretty much reflects the final shape we have in mind for ForkLift2. Little things might still change while getting to the final release but we think the main elements of the GUI and most functionalities are close to their final state by now. We hope you will love it all and please let us hear your opinions as always.

But hey, why just reading about it? Why not trying it straight away?

ForkLift 2.0 Public Beta build (3)

Finally I would like to send out a BIG THANK YOU to everyone out there in the ether who is helping us with all the reports and suggestions! You guys rock!

I think there’s nothing left to say but ENJOY. Keep on reporting and suggesting

… and don’t play too long with your shiny new ForkLift, there’s a day tomorrow, too ;)

I agree with Dmitry. Beta4 seems very robust, but lacks the favorites menu on the left. Very useful. Anyway you can always go Home with Command+Shift+H.

BTW, how long more for a full release of ForkLift2?

Beta 3 listed above has expired….probably should delete or update the link.
