Notes from the Command Bridge

July 31st, 2008

Hello People,

I know you all must be eagerly asking yourselves what is going on with ForkLift development-wise. So I took a short break from counting money to bring you this little update.

For the time being, we’ve put the work on the synch module to rest (just for a little while. It’s at a stage now where it is functional, and we need to put it down a little and get some perspective before we finalize the module workflow), and we are dedicating most of our time to usability enhancements. This is not entirely unrelated to the fact that you, our dear users, have been asking for just that.

‘Don’t be evil’…still

July 22nd, 2008

Hello People,

We’ve been fighting our evil instincts for some time now, but we have finally succumbed to the temptation.

We will change the price of ForkLift as of next week, switching from the current $29.95 to EUR 29.95 (Yes, we’re Europeans :) )

We could cite the effects of global economics and the gaslike consistency of foreign exchange markets as the reason behind this, or, we could soberly point to the fact that BinaryNIghts needs to grow in size along with our user base (at least one more coder is badly needed here).

But you may also believe we just want to get very rich fast, and hire Bill Gates as gardener on the dream island we will cause to be built on the Pacific for our new HQ.

In this case, this warning is the last manifestation of our more humane selves.

Have a great weekend everybody

What, no new release for two months!?!

July 18th, 2008

You thought we’ve forgotten all about you guys, and left you without a word for the rest of the summer on account of all the fun and partying we’re having.
In reality – though I’ll be the first to admit that there might be some truth in the having fun and general lazying out thing – we did not entirely forget to do some work.

Truth is, we wanted to be able to include our shiny new localizations in this release, but we were reminded by our users to the fact that in the meanwhile, we’re withholding some important fixes from you guys.

So, after what might become the longest time ever between two releases, please welcome ForkLift 1.5.3
